From US roots to UK
Black History Month is held every October in Britain, aiming to promote knowledge of black history, culture and heritage, disseminate information on positive black contributions to British society and heighten the confidence and awareness of black people to their cultural heritage. From its roots in America in 1926, Britain’s contribution to Black History Month has now grown to over 6000 associated events.
